Don't worry there is a video version of this whole story -
Somehow, I'm not quite sure how but whenever we refer to the puppies we had the were also called one of "the nine". Even from those who adopted them would post on the Rescue Rovers Facebook page saying one of "the nine".
Anyways, we brought the nine puppies home it was late, since we had a long drive him. It was a long night that first night, so you know in that last post how they pooped and smelled absolutely terrible? Well while we were driving home we were just dreading on taking them out since they'd be covered in poop (probably). Oh, did I mention they cried the WHOLE way home also? Well, we finally had arrived home after that horrific (I'm so happy they were so cute) drive and brought the crate with all the puppies in the kitchen and took them out one by one to rinse them off in the sink.

Little 5 week old Colonel (now Hobbs) |
Once they were bathed, checked for ticks, fed & shivering we let them go potty outside and all huddled up with me. I couldn't even see the puppies since it was dark outside all I know is that they were cute little 5 week old puppies.

So we put them in their crates for the night and dreading the next morning because previously with our first five fosters (about a year ago) that first night being dewormed there was a massive poop explosion in the crate that morning. The next morning came and we go out and there wasn't quite as much as we thought, still a lot so once again we had to bathe them. That's how it went for the next 4-5 days it seemed like.

Colonel was the biggest one of the bunch, he was a big fluffy fluff ball. He was mellow, loved affection, and just kind of independent. Everyone that came to meet and greet puppies just fell in love with him, how could you not? The first meet and greet the husband LOVED this little guy, but the wife loved Kronk which is ok since I think Kronk was perfect for them. Plus Colonel got to go to a home with his sister Gosalyn with a young couple that came to look at one and ended up with two!

Colonel 7 Weeks |
Here's a good story I have of Colonel - So Colonel was kind of the clown of the litter, he'd hop around when he was playing and end up falling over. We let Rush out since he was doing better with being with all the puppies, so Rush went out and went potty (pee) and Colonel run over and saw the stream of what he may have though was water (?) and walked right into the stream of pee and got it ALL over his face. I hurried and grabbed him while he had a look of confusion on what had just happened and why in the world that wasn't actually water. We rinsed his face and will laugh about it for days.

Figaro was one where you set him anywhere and he'd just fall asleep and be the perfect subject for pictures. He was the hardest for me to have adopted, he was so cuddly and just loved being around me. He was just so incredibly lucky that the most perfect person for him adopted him, a single school teacher that needs a walking companion. Figaro was the smallest of the bunch, he was tiny and didn't really eat. We had to take him separately for a couple days and try and fatten him up.

Figaro's new name is now Dexter, when his new daddy came and picked him up from Spay & Neuter he had purchased a big 'ol crate for him!
Story about Figaro - Figaro was the one that always stayed near to the "safe zone" After feeding the puppies the puppies usually all went out in the yard to poop/pee then scatter all different directions. So I had to go hunt them all down since we didn't have a fenced yard so it got kind of hard! So all the puppies are everywhere (especially Gadget & Gosalyn) and little Figaro just sat in the "safe zone" by the door the whole time I was gathering puppies.

Where do I even start on Gadget?
Talk about one of THE biggest troublemaker I have ever fostered, she's the explorer and knows she shouldn't be exploring when you come for her. She's the one that first went under the neighbors fence & brought Gosalyn along. She's the one that right when she finished eating and had to have a separate person watch her and as soon as she poops to put her back in the playpen before she can run off. Though, I'll give her credit after the 2nd time she realized that every time she ran off she'd end up in the playpen. She then became quite the little angel and stayed close for the next couple days while I had to put Gosalyn & Kronk in the playpen instead.

This girl is incredibly smart but had some gross habits that I've never fostered in a puppy/dog. She had a problem playing with dried poop and eating it. She loved to stand in the water dish to drink, she was the most hyper and playful, she could stand up for herself when her big brothers were picking on her.
She went to an awesome new home with a senior lab and she kept her name Gadget!

Giddy was the quiet girl of the bunch
She kept to herself most of the time, she was one that didn't mind sleeping in the corner alone but did love when you held and cuddled with her. She was also one of the runts of the bunch, and she looked exactly like Figaro, just female. She was my favorite at first since she was just so cuddly like Figaro (I loved them both). She was one I was secretly hoping no one wanted so I could convince my husband to keep her, she was sooo lucky she had an incredible application that was sent in for her or else she would be here too with Figaro (not really...). The lady that was looking at her kept wanting to make sure that when she comes to see Giddy that she CAN sign the contract and have her. I told her yes and she was so incredibly excited to come meet this little gal! I guess she had looked at Skie and really wanted her (she was an adult German Shepherd) but they had chosen someone else for her.

Giddy sleeping on my lap (6 weeks) |
When they came to see Giddy she immediately fell in love with her, she had two younger children (a toddler and an infant) and her husband came a little late. They all agreed on Giddy and had to wait at least 2 1/2 more weeks. We basically had meet and greets the first 3-4 days we had them, mostly two a day! So I sent her a picture at about 7 weeks of Giddy and she had told me they were going to name her Sage (adorable).

Her husband picked her up from Spay & Neuter before I had gotten there and left so I wasn't able to see her one last time, which is ok. The mom urgently called me apologizing that her husband took that puppy and ran (haha). She told me she'd send me lots of pictures (Which I got one already) and then told me they had changed her name from Sage to Daisy Jane. I think any cutesy name fits little Giddy, she was kind of the drama queen by 8 weeks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh Gosalyn....
Talk about the derpiest of the group, this girl is troublemaker #2 of the litter. Though she would at least come to me when I called her. For those that don't know where her name came from, it's from Darkwing Duck, the little girl. Anyways, Gosalyn was the female class clown of the bunch. She was the one that just made you laugh looking at her. She reminded me from our first littler we had a little female Shepherd puppy named Zelda that was kind of a goofy looking puppy too.

Gosalyn 7 Weeks |
7 Weeks |
Some adopters request pictures of there puppy they have to wait so long for to take home. So I attempt to take decent pictures of puppies, some are really good and some just cry (Colonel...). Gosalyn got the hang of it and was loving the attention as for her fluff monster Colonel (Hobbs) who was just crying if you held him or put him down (he didn't know what he wanted). After all the pictures I took I ended up sending him this one -

KronkyTonk Badonkadonk
Kronk, Kronk, Kronk.... talk about the dominant of the bundle. This boy was all man and was such a little stinker for the first couple weeks. He'd pick on the other puppies like none other and make them cry, he was frustrating and he thought he was all that. Once week 7 hit it all changed for him, he became more mellow and much sweeter and less mean. He was obedient, smart, and loyal. Then he wasn't as big of a pain to watch and I loved him more the older he got.

I couldn't have picked a more perfect family for him, he was going to a young couple and would have 2(?) older dogs to put him in his place. He was the one that looked most like a German Shepherd than the other ones, and they fell in love with him the moment they saw him out of all those 9 puppies (once again I called it) They changed his name to Thor though I guess their family was trying to convince them to name him Loki instead. They kept Thor and he has already learned Sit and Stay!

Launchpad McQuack
Can you believe he was the second to last one adopted out of the 9? Most believed he'd be the first. Launchpad was the odd one of the bunch, he looked like he didn't even belong. The only way he did was because of his sister Gadget who was similar to him with a lot less hair. We were thinking the reason he may not had been getting adopted is that he doesn't look like a GSD and looks more like an Aussie/Heeler. BUT, in due time he got adopted by a GREAT family that will love him so much his head'll explode (not really...)
Launchpad 7 Weeks |
Launchpad was about the same size as Colonel, they were both giant fluff balls and goofy ones at that! Before I let the puppies out of their crate I usually have their food all set out for them to come eat since it makes it easier. So when I set them all out and go let the puppies out of their crate Launchpad is the one before he goes to the food dish he'll come see me with his curly tail wagging as hard as he can and have me pick him up so he can give me a smooch. His new family changed his name to Trigger and he gets a older little foofoo sister to grow up with!

Monterey Jack
Monty was one you just had to love because he was so incredibly cuddly and was always trying to climb on your lap but you hated it because he was also suuuper nippy & had an obsession with pulling hair. He's one that was incredibly obedient and came every time you called him but wanted a piece of your arm when he got there. He's one that if you happened to get a whole in your PJ pants, it was probably him though he made up for it when he constantly wanted to cuddle with you.

Monty's new name became Ryley and the people that adopted him were from St. George so he got to stay an extra night at his foster home waiting for them to you come pick him up! They came about 2 in the afternoon and stayed for about an hour talking to me. They were an elderly couple that lives with their daughter and grandchildren so this puppy was for the grandkids. They are loving Ryley right now and said he's such a smarty pants!!

Last but not least....
Skuttle, he was one of the runts of the bunch and was a just a plain cute puppy. What else do you need to know about him? Oh right, my parents...cough sorry.... My FATHER decided to keep him after a couple meet and greets fell through. He was THE LAST puppy left and we had a meet and greet all set up for him and the day she was suppose to come she called and said her little boy broke his arm at school (he was in kindergarten) and they wouldn't be able to adopt him. Then a couple days later we had another meet and greet set up and when he was suppose to come see him he texted and said that they had a family emergency and would have to change the meet and greet to a couple days later. So the couple days passed and my dad said "are you gonna keep him?" to my mother. Well, that day came and the potential adopter texted and said they had a quagmire of problems and weren't able to adopt him and hope he goes to a great family.
He did in fact go to a great family, because he stayed right in his foster home where he had been since 5 weeks old. My dad loves him and calls him his own dog. My parents had left for 2 1/2 weeks so a week I had 9 puppies and then 1 1/2 weeks with Link, Storm, Peach, and my own dog Rush. I think they just wanted me to housebreak their new puppy, but that's just me. He's basically got it down I think, just doesn't know how to let me know he needs to go out, I just leave the door open for him. He's already learned SHAKE and constantly does it now, he's such a smarty pants!

If you want more of his story you can watch the video link on top of the page!
All in all, this was a great experience and I wouldn't have changed any of it. These puppies are so full of personality and even though there were some hard times watching them they were so fun to have for those three weeks! I'll try and write more in my blog, but I know I'm so bad at it!!
And a happy mothers day to seriously the best mom I could have ever gotten, I look up to her so much and hope to be just like her when i'm older. She's incredibly positive and I love spending time with her everyday!! We have basically everything in common so that's nice and we both love fostering dogs! We do almost everything together like run, bike, swimming, we go to spinning together, she comes and helps me take pictures of fosters/go to adoption events, and we sign up for crazy things to do together (1/2 iron man, 100 mile bike ride, Dumbo's Double Dare)! When we get puppies and they smell terrible or just a stressful day we always look at each other and hope for the other one to say "Do you want to go get soda?" or "Let's go to Culvers.". She's always there for me no matter where she is, she could be traveling on the other side of the states and we'll still text all the time. She's the coolest person I know!
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!
