Before I get started on telling you about my triathlon, I took a picture of me and Rush. I think he looks incredibly handsome and I want to share it with you all. Rush is now 26.5 pounds and about 4 months old, he got fixed last week and is all healed up and I think the cone may have pushed his one ear forward. So now he has one ear forward and one ear sideways. What a weird-o.

ANYWAYS, so today I did my first Triathlon since.......the beginning of 10th grade? We did the Escape from Black Ridge, and boy was it hard! Nothing I could have done could prepare me for that biking! more than half of it seemed to be up hill (total bike mileage was 14) The running seemed to be easier than the biking. I ran with my friend Heather and sister, there was pizza at the end, I didn't eat any because that didn't sound good right after the race. We swam in open water, which wasn't too bad besides the fact that there were legs kicking everywhere and you kept touching other peoples legs :S.

I did great on swimming, meh on biking, and good on running. I can't even tell you how many people passed me on biking! EVEN A LADY ON A MOUNTAIN BIKE GOING UP HILL DID. Needless to say, her calfs were huge, and I had the bike seat half way up my bottom. That seemed like the longest 14 miles, BUT, I made it up that deathly hill without getting off, I may have been going 2 miles and hour, I DID IT. Heather bikes a lot, so she was just cruising on the bike and got quite a bit ahead of me, she needs to teach me her skills because I'm awful at it. When it came to running though I was passing all those people passing me on bikes! That felt good to pass SOMEONE. Ok, ok, I passed one person on a bike, that was it though. Heather got 2nd place -- GOOD JOB HEATHER!

I can't even tell you how many times I had to ask Kristy about transitions, I'm so used to 5k's/Half Marathons which you only need your running shoes. I would do another triathlon, but I'd like to train more for it so I don't think on the biking "why did I sign up for this?"

Those medals are HEAVY, it makes my other medals look like babies. Medals make every race worth it, you feel like you really did accomplish something! Speaking of which, if you feel the same way do I have a shirt for you ;)
Ok, one more picture of dogs -- Rush and Marlene have become best cousins, Rush gets SO incredibly excited when Marlene comes over. They play for hours and then he sleeps like a baby that night.
